Don’t go it alone…

The phone rings at work, and you learn from your brother that mom is at the hospital again.  Thankfully, she has avoided breaking anything from this recent fall, but she needs therapy.  After a few weeks, the social worker at her rehab informs you that her doctor is recommending assisted living instead of going home. You have less than a week to find, choose, and move your mother before she is discharged.  You start by calling the community that the rehab recommends, but no one calls you back.  You drive across town to tour a facility that a friend at church suggests, only to find that they are above your budget.  Another 2 hours wasted and the clock is ticking.

Your brother looked online and has a “list” of places to go tour.  The first place you go has no availability; the second assisted living is nice but can’t manage your mother’s insulin.   Your phone is now ringing off the hook from sales people!  How did they get your cell number?  You are feeling overwhelmed, the social worker just left you a message asking for a decision, and you panic as you realize that you forgot to pick your daughter up after school!

With all the decisions that you have made in your lifetime – choosing a college, job opportunities, buying a house, nothing has prepared you for finding care for a parent.  You feel completely alone, BUT you are not.

A senior care consulting agency, like Senior Provisions LLC, believes that you should not be alone on this journey.  Our local advisors are knowledgeable of all care options, costs and only recommend communities that match your family’s personal circumstances.  We believe that your privacy is important and will never share your contact information with sales people without your permission. Our local advisors know every community, their track record of care, strengths and weaknesses and can provide references from families that have lived there.   Within 24 hours, we will narrow down your options to 2-3 communities that best meet your mom’s needs, guide you through your decision, and help with the transition.   Don’t go it alone, you don’t need to.  ■
